About this place
One diner who came for the roast pork remembered more than the plate: house-made balsamic dressing, house-made bread and the unexpected pleasure of pairing the meal with Chinese tea. Cafe Ding how’s menu includes roast pork and sautéed salmon, both priced at 1,600 yen.
There is a wide choice of Chinese teas, including Lishan High Mountain Tea, Alishan High Mountain Tea, Wenshan Baozhong and Oriental Beauty. The menu describes Wenshan Baozhong as lightly oxidised, with a fresh floral aroma, while Oriental Beauty is more heavily oxidised, closer to black tea, and sweet and rich. These are teas to consider with a meal, or when you would rather take your time over the tea itself.
For something lighter, an egg or salmon sandwich costs 1,200 yen. The menu also lists cheese-melting toast and French toast. Coffee, available as Mandheling, Ethiopian or Costa Rican, is 680 yen. If tea and a small treat are more appealing than a full meal, Wenshan Baozhong’s fresh aroma could make a pleasant match for French toast.
Alongside coffee and Chinese tea, one visitor also enjoyed craft gin. Beer, wine and whisky are on the menu, and diners have mentioned taking time out alone with tea or a drink. Whether you are after a proper meal or a quiet pause centred on a beverage, the cafe offers options to suit the occasion.
